(writing prompt)
The night sky was set ablaze by the multicolor lights that scattered across the horizon. Howitzer scampered along the grassy field finding the blanket he had set down with Jester earlier.

“Sorry for my lateness I-” BOOM! The explosion made Howitzer jump and scurry to Jester’s side slightly out of fear. “ I was unaware they would be so loud up here..”

Jester laughed and motioned for Howitzer to look up at the sky. His eyes were wide as the violets and reds filled his view, the loudness of the fireworks seemingly sinking into the background of ‘oohs and ahhs.’ It was moments like these Howitzer was grateful to be a traveler and experiencing the great wonders of the universe. He may not see another event like this for decades.

The finale of this gland light show was the embers in the shapes of events. Carnival games, shows, cotton candy. Howitzer thought it was spectacular. With a strange smile on his face he found himself wanting to witness more of this interesting display of ingenuity.

Howitzer looked over at Jester, a warm expression on his face, “Thank you Jester, this truly was a night to remember.”
